Updates:

News: ChiLong passed to where "Demon Dragons" (what her name meant in Chinese) go, having passed from this world on 7/23/21. With her departure Pixie, my other dog, is left alone. But because I will be moving in less than two years I will not be getting another dog. All part of the process of living and growing.

News: Ghost , well, became a ghost late in the Summer of 2015. Old age was the cause. He was creamated and laid to rest in my backyard with all the other animals mentioned here on this page. I went down to the same dog pound I got Kahlua, Aeneas, Ghost, and ChiLong and looked for another dog. I had a large Great Dane mix for about a week, but he was too aggressive towards ChiLong, causing a visit to the vet for ChiLong for some staples. That dog was taken back, but I did not give up and took back a smaller Pitbull mix, who I named Pixie. In the "meet and greet" pen at the pound, she was in her own little world, and sort of asocial.... Like a little fairy floating around the pen... thus the name. Pixie and ChiLong in the beginning had some issues, and even now occoasionally go after each other, but, for the most part, they've realized they're on the same team...

News: Baby, a dog I have had for thirteen years, died of old age last night 2/27/10. I rescued her from the neighborhood street within two weeks of moving into my present house. She was the top dog (aside from me) in the house these many years, putting her doggie companions in their place. At home she was always at my feet and always protective. She lived a long, pampered, and happy life with me which makes me feel good about my experience with her considering I saved her from the life of a stray. Speaking of which, I went down to the Animal Shelter today and rescued another dog. She is a Chow and German Shepard mix and very sweet. We named her Chilong, or Demon Dragon in Chinese. She's very meek, but can get a nasty streak when standing up to over-dominating Ghost... Addendum: 3/6/10 Chilong and Ghost are getting along fine now. It's good to see them play in the backyard :-)

News: My new dog Ghost I saved from the same dog pound I got Kahlua and Aeneas 11/11/04... He's the color of a dirty old sheet, scary to look at (big and two different colored eyes), and very skittish... He's originally from Alabama and had a disadvantaged youth... Now he seems to be very much the Happy Dog...

News: Aeneas has passed to the realm of the gods 11/9/04. He developed some kind of cancer or organ failure... His name fit him perfectly: Loyal, noble, faithful, brave, and always searching... Fare thee well!

News: I got Aeneas 6/13/03... Aeneas is named after the lead character in Virgil's Aeneid written during the time of Augustus Ceasar. Aeneas was a prince of Troy who, after Troy's destruction at the hands of the Greeks, wandered the Mediterranean until he would eventually land in Italy. There he would begin the culture that would become Rome and conquer the world... So, I found Aeneas at the dog pound, ended his wandering, and gave him his True Destined Home...

News: Kahlua passed away of organ failure 6/11/03 due to old age as well. She also lived a long (12.5 years), healthy, and pampered life. She will be missed...

News: Simon passed away 3/12/01 of Kidney failure due to old age. He lived a long (13 years), healthy, and pampered life... But he will be missed.

News: I got Kahlua December of 1997. Very intelligent and protective...

News: I got Baby in October 1997. She was a stray dog in the neighborhood. Obviously abused as a child, she is very shy, but sweet...

News: Emily passed away the first week after moving into my new house: August, 1997. I had her for nine years. She was a sweet dog and I will miss her...
